1)Go to Itunes, put it on random.

2) Get 5 songs,

3( Go to Google

4) type the name of each song

5) paste the first image you see of it here, even if it's terribly obvious. Some of them won't be.

6) Amuse yourself.

Music questions

What was the first concert you ever saw?
Chicago. Wouldn't have been my first choice (or in the top 10 or 20) but was the first opportunity.

What are you listening to these days?
It's funny how listening to music has changed over my life. First it was 20 minute album sides from one band. Then whole CD albums. Then I had a carousel CD changer so five CDs, often in a random mix. Now, with an mp3 player, I can listen to most of my music on random shuffle. Though I do listen to a CD sometimes still. Lanois in performance and production has seen much play of late.

What was the first album you owned?
Simon and Garfunkle's Greatest Hits. Followed shortly by Kiss Alive!

What artist, genre or musical trend does everyone seem to love, but you just don't get?
As a life-long grumpy old man, I've poo pooed many a musical craze of the moment. I can "get" why people do most anything if try. But Lordy I don't have the energy for all that trying.

What musical act, current or defunct, would you most like to see perform live?
If I had a time machine I'd be going to a lot of concerts. Off the top of my head--early Scorpions, several flavors of King Crimson, Beefheart doing Mirror Man.

Musically speaking, what is your favorite guilty pleasure?
I mostly don't feel guilty about music I like. I do, however, sometimes feel guilty about the music I don't like.

What song would you like to have played at your funeral?
If I told you then you wouldn't show up.

What band or artist changed your life & how?
Unsurprisingly Eno comes to mind. At least half the music I listen to can be directly tied to him.

Figurative gun to your head, what is your favorite album of all time?
I have the hardest time with such questions because my brain isn't organized that way. But I'll go with a tie between Eno's Ambient 4: On Land and Eno, Eno and Lanois' Apollo: Atmospheres and Soundtracks. Apparently because I like albums with colons in the title.

This is supposed to be a 30 day meme. Doing this over 30 days isn't happening. So here's the whole thing at once.

Lots of video links to good music. )

Go to http://quotationspage.com/random.php3 and browse the random quotes until you find five that you think reflect who you are or what you believe.

It's the possibility that when you're dead you might still go on hurting that bothers me.
Keri Hulme, The Bone People, 1983

Some days you're a bug, some days you're a windshield.
Price Cobb

Existence is random. Has no pattern save what we imagine after staring at it for too long. No meaning save what we choose to impose.
Alan Moore, Watchmen, 1986

Patriotism is the willingness to kill and be killed for trivial reasons.
Bertrand Russell (1872 - 1970)

Often it does seem a pity that Noah and his party did not miss the boat.
Mark Twain (1835 - 1910)

* Set music player on random.
* Post the first line (or two) of the first 20 songs.
* Have your friends guess the name of the song and the artist
* Googling is cheating!

1. She is unhappy and even unkind
2. The streets are cracked and there's glass everywhere
3. Tears of joy at the birth of a brother
4. I thought I'd found a reason to live
5. Oh, oh, I'm man, get off my foot, ha ha
6. Everything you ever wanted is passing with the driving rain
7. People movin' out people movin' in why? because of the color of their skin
8. Hey, see you soon Sail through your room
9. I was dreaming it's a hundred and ninety degrees
10. The corpses all hang headless and limp
11. In a churchyard by a river
12. I got nothin' to eat in this old house
13. What a dream I had pressed in organdy
14. I am the voice inside your head and I control you
15. You shatter me your grip on me a hold on me so dull it kills
16. I really love you and I mean you
17. All our friends now seem so thin and frail
18. Lily is dancing on the table
19. I'm so happy because today I found my friends
20. She played for the angels I played for the tribe

Good luck with that...

I never realized how many songs I have that give the title in the first line.
