It is my horribly inexpert opinion that the American government should have been slowly and regularly raising the price of gasoline since the 70s. Adjusting taxes to remove wild swings in price. Thus continually spurring efficiency and alternatives. What might be different now if we had?
It is a horror when people obviously die because of our greed, despite the fact that it in-obviously happens all the time.
